I love me a good monochrome look and this one in a Spring pastel blue is no exception. I love how just a little shoe detail and keeping the look in an obvious theme dresses up basic blue jeans. It turned out to be great for a weeknight dinner. Light cardigans are a perfect option for layering during the tricky Spring weather. I am obsessed with this baby blue bag which I find is going to be a go-to Spring and Summer accessory. I think this would make a great pop of color for an all white look in the summer, or any casual look for that matter. A color blocking outfit with some more bright colors would be a cool option too. Same goes with the blue block heel shoe. The color definitely changes things up and the block heel gives it a more casual feel.
In theme, I wore this look to Greek restaurant Anassa in Astoria Queens. Their evil eye decor is adorable and the food and drinks are equally exceptional. Keep reading to hear more about my experience.
Food and Drink Rundown
This dish was as tasty as it is aesthetically pleasing. This could definitely feed more than two people and is packed with flavor and lobster!
A really great pasta dish that you can add protein to also. The ingredients are basic but together create a really nice bite.
Might be one of my favorite spots for lamb chops. Not only were they delicious and well seasoned but PERFECTLY cooked, which can be a little hit or miss as far as lamb chops go.
The greek classic orders. Saganaki and Halloumi are two traditional Greek cheeses which are both excellent and just depend on your preference of fried or grilled. I will say that the addition of orange, honey and sesame are unique and a nice compliment to the cheese.
Similar deal with the calamari and octopus. We ordered the grilled calamari, but I am sure the usual fried would be equally as good. Also, I cannot come to a Greek restaurant without an order of grilled octopus, and Anassa does a wonderful job in preparation, flavor, and how it is cooked. My table was definitely happy with these orders.
Anassa definitely has the word around town for their trendy beautiful cocktails, especially with the evil eye touch. The great news is that they are also excellent cocktails. The Frida packs a tart and spicy punch, and the Melina is more of a balanced not too sweet type of cocktail. The Selene is probably the most popular, which again very tart with that passion fruit profile but really silky too with the egg white component. The Athena is pretty classic but the ginger and blood orange make it special. Finally I only tried a sip of the Callas but I found it to be very refreshing and light, for those not too big on strong alcoholic beverages.
