Pink lips for Spring? Classic. A light pop of color completely transforms the look and just makes your light and fresh make up looks a little more glam, special, and bold.
I HIGHLY recommend these lipsticks from Maybelline. I love everything about them. Not only are they super affordable options at the drugstore, the shades are stunning, flattering on multiple skin tones, and the formula is amazing. I have two different formulas I tested out below, the Maybelline SuperStay Ink Crayon and the Maybelline SuperStay Matte Ink formula. Quite honestly, both are excellent.
Maybelline SuperStay Matte Ink
Obviously the matte Formula is more matte and dries down completely. It has outrageous staying power (see the swatch below). It starts off a little tacky on the lips but once it dries down it is not moving. If it does fade away by the end of the night the good news is you are still able to reapply and layer it up without it crumbling off. This is actually one of my favorite liquid lipstick formulas in general! It doesn’t dry out the lips at all and is so comfortable to wear.
Maybelline SuperStay Ink Crayon
While I love the matte formula and will continue to recommend, repurchase, and wear it, the SuperStay Ink Crayon is such a perfect lipstick formula for me on all counts. It reminds me a lot of the Nars velvet matte lip crayons. It glides on the lips and makes them look smooth and plush. It’s not fully matte but more of a satin velvet finish. While its not completely budge proof and doesn’t dry down fully, it definitely doesn’t slide around and you can also count on it to stay there ALL day. It is one of the most comfortable lipstick formulas I have put on my lips.
Shades Left to Right
Just so you get the idea of the staying power of the Matte formula. And I was SCRUBBING with my Bioderma micellar water (which usually does a great job to take off my makeup)
I definitely will be getting so much use out of these throughout the Spring and Summer this year. Have you tried either of these formulas from Maybelline?
