No fresh faced makeup look is complete without a healthy dose of blush on your cheeks. Cream blush formulas have definitely been all the rage in the last few years and new formulas are constantly hitting the market. The reason for the popularity is easy to see as cream formulas give a natural healthy finish to the skin and often is infused with all the new skincare buzzwords like Niacinamide and Hyaluronic acid acid. They are also great in their versatility. My own cream blush collection has grown, with no intention of ceasing. Here is what it currently looks like…
Basma Cream Blush
The Basma cream blush true to its claims has a very glossy and hyrdrating finish. I think also true to its claims that it does have a very buildable coverage and a nice pigmentation and color payout. It is also hypoalergenic and safe to use on your lips as well. It looks very healthy on the skin and although it has a creamy consistency does not emphasize any pores or texture.
Tarte Cheek Stain
The best way to describe the application of the Tarte Cheek Stain is juicy and gel like. but surprisingly dries down pretty matte and I would say the final finish of it is more of a stain affect. It looks as though your cheeks were just pinched. “It is made with up to 36% water for weightless wear, is buildable and blends seamlessly and t5 super fruit complex™ antioxidant blend that nourishes the skin.” Fun fact this was also the first product that Tarte ever came up with that they brought back as a limited edition item.
Glow Recipe Niacinimade Dewy Flush
The Glow Recipe Niacinimide dewy flush is a stunning product on the cheeks. Although new to my collection it is a quick favorite giving such a lovely light wash, and a hydrating healthy look to the cheeks. The consistency is very serum like and it claims to plump the cheeks, brightens dark spots and hydrates while providing natural flush of color that melts into the skin.
Caliray Blurry Blush
This blush from Caliray is also on the more pigmented side but also has an even application and finish. While it claims to blur and minimize pores, I can agree that in being more matte I can agree that it does not emphasize texture and pores and leaves the skin looking smoother. The claims? ” It also has those skin-loving ingredients niacinamide and copper peptides to boost hydration while kaolin clay absorbs oil and helps reduces the appearance of pores
Loreal True Match Lumi Le Liquid Blush
The Lumi Le Liquid Blush is PIGMENTED. Go in with a very light hand and perhaps even a beauty blender to tap the excess. However once applied it has a smooth and natural matte finish and adds a really nice pop of color you’d hope for in a blush.
Ciele Blush & Protect SPF 50
This blush is perfect for those sunny days differentiates itself with so many SPF properties. “Non-nano mineral based broad spectrum SPF 50+, Acne-safe, made without pore cloggers., Strong antioxidant properties that lower the risk of cellular damage to the skin., Protects against the 4 types of radiation: UVA, UVB, Blue Light & Infrared”
Laura Mercier Tinted Moisturizer Cream Blush
The Laura Mercier is a go-to becuase I find it to be a full proof product that is hard to mess up. It has an easy to work with consistency, a beautiful natural finish and just the right amount of pigment. “Ultra-moisturizing botanicals impart 12 hours of weightless tinted hydration: Raspberry seed helps to condition while prickly pear contains a high content of water-building compounds for ultimate skin hydration.” While I wouldn’t give it the most hydrating award, it probable gets the most natural.
Caliray Socal Superbloom Lip and Cheek Tint
The Superbloom Lip and Cheek tint definitely has great smooth forumla that also feels very water based and easy to work with. The finish is very fresh and hydrating and gives just a nice pigmentation that you can layber. It is comfortable and leavys a beautiful soft glossy finish on the lops as well. It is also forumaled with niacinimide and squalane.
Simihaze Sun Flush All Over Face Tint
This has a perfect natural finish with a slight sheen and easy to work with consistency. It is also a great product for effortless monochrome look as it is meant to be used on all parts of the face.

Milk Bionic Liquid Blush With Hyaluronic Acid
I really do love the lightweight consistency and just the fresh hydrated look it gives to the skin. It is definitely on the dewy side but in a healthy way. It starts very sheer but even so still gives an impact of color. More buzz words.. it is infused with hydrating hyaluronic acid, mushroom extracts, and vegan collagen to help improve the look of skin texture, elasticity, and firmness.
Milk Makeup Cooling Water Jelly Tint
Tint is definitely more of a description and liquid of cream and it gives that popsicle stain but on your cheeks if that makes sense. As such it definitely last long on the skin or lips. The jelly consistency just glides on and gives that sheer but buildable coverage. Some formula highlights include vegan collagen, aloe and seawater.
