One topic that I have merely dabbled here on ERA en Vogue is my reading list. Reading is such an integral part of my days and how I start my mornings, with usually something motivational, inspiring or educational and how I end my nights with something light and interesting. I am one of those nerds who still actively goes to their local library and I basically play Russian Roulette with myself and choose my books with little thought process.
Some were motivating, some reflective, some purely enjoyable, but each one added something to how I think, work, or see the world. This list is a straightforward snapshot of what I read and what stood out.To avoid being redundant, I will also link my Summer Reading list/ books I read during that quarter.
Mistakes That Made Me a Millionaire – Kim Perrell
Kim Perrell’s book is a masterclass in turning setbacks into opportunities. Every story is a reminder that failure is often the fast track to success. This was the last book I read in 2025 and it really helped set the tone to step into the new year just a little more fearless and inspired.
The Art of Winning – Bill Belichick
Belichick’s insights into strategy, discipline, and mindset aren’t just for football—they’re life lessons. Reading this reminded me how much success is about preparation and focus.
Jump & Find Joy – Hoda Kotb
Hoda’s warm, authentic voice makes this more than a self-help book—it’s a companion. Perfect for anyone trying to infuse more happiness into their daily life, it reminded me to pause, breathe, and celebrate the small wins. The only thing that is certain is change and these practical tools help you navigate being comfortable through all the changes and phases of life.
Living Well With Dr. Michelle
This is a wellness roadmap that goes beyond diet and exercise, touching on mindset, habits, and holistic living. This was very much an outside the box approach and appreciated how it isn’t one size fits all but gives you the tools to create your own formula for overall wellness at the cellular level.
What You Wish For – Katherine Center
A very hopeless romantic rom-com novel but it was a thoughtful exploration of love, hope, and the ways life can surprise you. Katherine’s storytelling is witty and heartfelt.
I Am Maria: My Reflection – Maria Shriver
A personal memoir about resilience, identity, and self-discovery. I never thought I would be so interested in poetry but it really did open a floodgate of inspiration. There were moments here that made me pause and reflect—perfect for a year-end reset.
The Tourists – Christopher Reich
Thrilling and clever, Reich’s latest had me turning pages late into the night. Perfect for fans of high-stakes suspense and international intrigue. I also find it especially interesting given the current political climate and almost thought of it as a real life story.
The Gut Brain Paradox – Steven Gundry
A fascinating dive into the link between gut health and mental clarity. I appreciated how scientific yet readable it was. A small gripe was how strict it was though — for some one who really likes to live life to the fullest, I felt while insightful this kind of recommended diet is so restrictive and very doom and gloom. Nonetheless the read was interesting and insightful
A Resistance of Witches – Morgan Ryan
Fantasy lovers, this one’s for you. Magical, immersive, and full of clever world-building. I found it to be incredibly captivating and a great read.
Build a Business You Love – Dave Ramsey
Business meets lifestyle—this book is all about creating a venture that energizes you rather than drains you. Another approachable but insightful read on how to build a specific business from the ground up with confidence.
The Lost Art of Closing – Anthony Iannarino
Sales, persuasion, and communication mastery all in one. Even if you’re not in traditional sales, there are lessons here for every conversation and negotiation.
The Opposite of Settling: How to Get Everything You Want Out of Love and Life Without Losing Your Spark – Casey Kenny
This book is a gentle reminder on how to look at relationships, ambition, and the importance of staying true to yourself. Its about having boundaries and standards and to attract people around you who not only resepect them but amplify them. Perfect for anyone navigating love and life with intention. A small drawback is that while it is an easy read, I find it to be a little wordy and repetitive, finding myself thinking like didn’t I just read that.
2025 in Books:
This year’s reads reminded me that knowledge comes in many forms—sometimes it’s a gripping story, sometimes it’s a step-by-step guide, and sometimes it’s a personal memoir that makes you pause and reflect. Every book left a little mark on how I approach life, work, and joy—and I can’t wait to see what 2026 brings.
