Five Favorites Of 2020; Quarantine Favorites

Welcome to 2021 friends. We are officially a week in and while I am sure everyone was hoping to blink and see better days, it hasn’t quite been the turn around we were hoping for in regards to all the world issues. How has it been going for you so far?

For me, sometimes I feel like I can hardly notice with the constant hustle to organize/prepare ideas for content and setting goals for 2021. Thank you for baring with me as I took a week off of posting to get everything straight. For the first post of the year, I figured I’d give a shoutout to the things that made 2020 a little easier for me.

Lounge Sets

Fuck Off Lounge Set

The #StayHome mandate really demotivated me to dress up sometimes throughout the year. By sometimes, I really mean most of the time. However, at some point I had that need to “pull myself together” revelation and cute lounge sets were always a go-to for me. They made me feel cute and comfy at the same time. Not to mention, they are a no brainer to style. My favorite one (not to offend anyone) was this Fuck Off fluffy short set from Nasty Gal. I think the quality is great, it kept me cozy and warm, and in my opinion fits with the vibe/tone of 2020. FYI: Nasty Gal is having a huge sale on their site and loungewear products.

Retinol (Drunk Elephant A-Passioni Retinol Cream)

Drunk Elephant Retinol + B Hydra Serum

This is a product I discovered later in the year but quickly became a favorite of mine. I have always heard how retinol is such an amazing ingredient and a must to incorporate in your routine, but due to my sensitive skin I always tend to be a little skeptical trying something new. This product blew me away. It is so gentle that I hardly notice any side affects other than a little dryness (which comes with winter anyway), and I started seeing results almost immediately. Also keep in mind, I started and still am using this product sparingly, as in I started off once a week and only now built myself up to every other day. Even so, I STILL see a change in my skin and think I am ready to incorporate this daily.

Breaking the Habit Of Being Yourself By Joe Dispenza

Breaking the Habit Of Being Yourself

This book in my opinion is a must read. A slow read – in all honesty you have to get through some science, quantum physics etc- but is one of the most life changing books I have read. While everyone has probably heard of “The Secret”, which I am sure became especially popular during this unprecedented times, I know that for some it is hard to buy into because of all the spiritual and in some ways fantasy aspects. Breaking the Habit of Being Yourself combines those theories and shows you the scientific proof in which your body and brain undergo physical changes once you begin to calm your mind and change your mindset. For some one who has read the book, I can’t say I am one of those overnight successes, and it is definitely something that is a work in progress BUT it is worth the food for thought, and definitely will shift your perspective.

I am also currently reading Joe Dispenza’s new book Becoming Supernatural. Let me know if you guys are interested in a review once I get through it.

Yoga With Adriene

Believe it or not, I grew up a hard-core athlete. Soccer, basketball, softball, cheerleading, you name it. Other than sports, I love boxing, which obviously was out of the question since the quarantine. The gym however, or working out for the sake of working out like going for a run or doing a home routine was never my thing. I don’t know where the urge came from sometime in March, but I gave yoga a chance and I havn’t looked back since. I think Adriene/ The Yoga with Adriene programs made all the difference in keeping me committed and cultivating some kind of love for yoga itself. I started with the 30 Day Yoga Challenge entitled Home, which started off as just that, a challenge. It was just to push myself and follow through with something during the pandemic, and to see how it goes. I haven’t missed a day since. Adriene is really calming and creates monthly programs with intentions that not only give you a good work out for your physical body but also supports your mental health too, which I find to be important these days. Her 30 Day Challenge for 2021 just started and I highly reccomend you check it out, or just her classes in general.

Cute Office Supplies

Working from home has inspired me to build my business and brand all the more. I set up my home office (let me know if that’s something you’d like to see), and have really come to love being in the space and watching everything grow. What I especially love are my cute office supplies. It may be a bit “little-girl”ish but I love being surrounded by beautiful things in general and wanted to extend it into my work environment(where I spend most of my time) too. It adds that extra bit of motivation to see a nice quote on your notebook, or to use a luxe pen than just the mundane legal notepad or boring work zone.

These favorites have definitely carried into 2021 so far. What are some of your favorites of 2020? What positive habits, products, routines have you implemented or want to? Also be sure to let me know what type of content you are looking forward to seeing this year! Happy New Year!✨
