Many people write their goals down for the New year but few continue to pursue them past the first few weeks of January. Often times, it is not due to lack of capabilities, but just in part to a weak mindset. The fix? Feed your mind with positive content regularly.
I find podcasts to be an easy way to do that as they are filled with tons of information that can have a transformative impact. The best part is you are able to listen in during your free time or even have it on in the background during your commute, work, etc, – trust me, your subconscious is listening. Here are some of my favorites for motivation and productivity.
I love how Mel Robbins is so relateable. With bestselling books and a top podcast on itunes, she continues to be such a down to earth person facing the same issues we all do regularly. I love how her podcast feels like a phone conversation between friends and that it is approachable in style. The methods she suggests are simple and easy to do, it almost seems silly, but have profound impact in shifting your mindset and creating new habits.
The Motivation Show Eli Marcus
For all the New Yorkers out there, you may already know Eli Marcus, or as some know him, the Mayor of Times Square. Beyond his success in the tourism industry, what you may not be aware of is that Eli also is the host of The Motivation Show podcast, rated in the top 1% of podcasts in the world. He interviews world famous motivational speakers, celebs, #1 NY Times Best Selling Book Authors, Health Experts & more. Recently one of his interviews was with Lady Gaga’s father, Joe Germanotta. Beyond what you can learn at Harvard and Yale, Eli enthusiastically provides content that mentally sets you up to create a life beyond your wildest dreams and to feel great doing it.
If you ever need a hype man, Trent Shelton is your guy. I always feel like I am in a fired up locker room. There is almost never an excuse not to listen because they are so short, you can have it playing in the background as you brush your teeth and get ready for work, or during your commute. However, each episode’s message is delivered with so much passion that it easily sinks in and and can set a really great tone to start your day.
Max Out Ed Mylett
Ed Mylett is a no-bullshit kind of guy and that is exactly how he treats his podcast. Its about living life to the fullest and “maxing” out, as has he calls it, and he really does get down to the knitty gritty from some of the most successful people and lays out how they got to where they are and what it takes to really “max out” your life. I really enjoy how focused the conversations are while also hitting on major helpful points.
On Purpose Jay Shetty
Jay Shetty is one of those people that pulls at the heart strings. On his show are some of the biggest names across multiple industries and I think he creates such a warm comfortable space for those being interviewed that they really open up vulnerably to another level and we learn about these successful people beyond their success principles.
Yesterday was Chinese New Year so if you haven’t set those goals or are already slacking on those resolutions, now is a perfect time to refresh and start again. I hope these podcasts help to give your a little inspiration.
