Basically in the middle of nowhere off the Long Island Expressway is Refuge110. Trust me you will want to take the exit. The space is huge with tons of seating indoors and outdoors and really nice decor as well. I think this is an excellent place for private parties, date night, or a night out with all the girls. I understand the fusion concept but this menu initially threw me for a loop. I mean how can a restaurant execute Italian, Mexican, Seafood etc all equally. Well to my pleasant surprise, everything WAS delicious here at Refuge 110 and there is definitely something for everyone.

Avocado, pistachio, gorgonzola crumble, avocado oil, apple balsamic drizzle
This salad was absolutely delicious and far from basic. I love the combination of flavors and was obsessed with the dressing and happy to find they were not stingy on it.

4 cheese lava and hot NY pretzel
I mean, I don’t think this needs much explanation. The rich and delicious cheese is flambeed table side. It is worth every calorie.

Wilted spinach, roasted pepper and tomatoes, avocado cilantro crema
The tuna was well cooked and very tasty. I loved the avocado cilantro crema and only wish I had more of it. I also loved the pop of sweetness from the bell peppers.

Grey goose, rosemary peach vodka, peach nectar, ruby red grapefruit
This was such an excellent cocktail that really goes down like juice. It was light, refreshing, and an overall balanced cocktail. It was not too sweet and really perfect for summer.
Now that I think of it, Refuge reminds me a lot of my last post from Revel Garden City. A cute spot with a huge and interesting menu, but reallllyyy good food. Lately Long Island has not disappointed.
