New in Beauty: Basma Cosmetics

Basma Cosmetics

I don’t know about you but I always get excited for new products showing up on the market, but not only new products, new brands. As your life guinipig, I had to put these products from Basma to the test. I discovered the brand during the Sephora VIB sale and picked up the two (and only) products that they had available. The story of Basma is a really beautiful one after the founder Basma Hameed suffered third degree burns and developed a skin procedure called Scar Camouflage Procedure – a treatment that involves implanting skin tone pigments into scar tissue and since developed skin tone pigments for thousands of clients with different skin types, textures and conditions. The purpose of this new makeup line is meant to be for all people – skin types, skin tones, and all the factors when people choose to wear and customize makeup.

BASMA The Cream Blush

BASMA The Cream Blush

Claims: Radiant Finish Long-wearing Long-wearing Cream Formula Cream Formula Hydrating Hydrating Fragrance Free Fragrance Free Vegan Vegan What it is: A buttery-soft, buildable cream blush and lip tint that melts into the skin for a naturally radiant finish. Ingredient Callouts: Free of parabens, phthalates, and retinyl palmitate. It is also gluten-free and cruelty-free. What Else You Need to Know: This long-wearing, nonsticky formula is ultra-hydrating, courtesy of nourishing ingredients like avocado oil and aloe vera extract. Available in six unique shades, the pigments are buildable to your liking—from sheer to bold—and the formula is lightweight on the skin.

My first impression of this blush is:…. OBSESSED.

The consistency, the color, the creaminess and easy to blendability. It is a 10/10 for me so much so I’d take this in every color. The only gripe which is a mixed one is the packaging. While beautiful and sleek and once you get the hang of it, it does become a no brainer, BUT, the first few times it is tricky to open and I was really fearful of breaking it.

Basma foundation stick

BASMA The Foundation Stick for Hydrating, Buildable Coverage and Natural Finish

Claims: ONLY AT SEPHORA What it is: A buttery-soft, buildable, and lightweight foundation stick that evens out skin tone and leaves your skin with a natural glow. Coverage: Full Finish: Natural Formulation: Stick Highlighted Ingredients: - Aloe Vera Extract: Supports collagen production and visibly improves elasticity. - Vitamin E: An antioxidant that facilitates skin hydration. - Apricot Butter: Helps nurture, revitalize, and soften skin. Ingredient Callouts: Free of parabens, formaldehydes, formaldehyde-releasing agents, phthalates, mineral oil, oxybenzone, coal tar, hydroquinone, sulfates SLS & SLES, triclocarban, triclosan, and contains less than one percent synthetic fragrance. It is also vegan and cruelty-free.

I think that the claims on this product were highly accurate. It is very soft and lightweight, as well as light coverage but buildable for something more than just an every day no makeup makeup. It is creamy and easy to blend and sits on top of the skin absolutely beautifully with almost a blurred natural satin like finish. That sounds like a lot of adjectives but it really gives a your skin but better effect. Not overly dewy. Not overly matte. It looks and feels like my skin that I don’t even find necessary in setting with powder. It is a very nice goldilocks effect and I will definitely continue to use it regularly day and night.
