New In Beauty: Current Favorite Glowy Foundation

Makeup forever HD Hydra Glow Foundation

TheSephora Spring Sale inspired me to keep it going with the makeup posts and this product definitely deserves its own spotlight. The glowy and fresh face trend is most definitely not a new one, but I think it is one that has solidified its place and is not going anywhere in the near future. For me, a good lightweight and dewy foundation is appropriate for all times of year. Spring and summer for more natural and healthy looking skin, but also a go-to in winter months when my skin is just too dehydrated for more matte makeup.

With that said I recently tested out the new Make Up for Ever HD Hydra Glow foundation and fell in love. While I see many mixed reviews on this product, I personally am a huge fan. It has a VERY dewy glasslike look, borderline oily and slick so this is not for anyone with oily to combination skin. The effect is also amplified as the day goes on however, I think for such a formula that one would think would just slip off the face, the longevity is really amazing. The best way to describe it is that I simply look healthy, and like I have natural radiant skin. I also love that even with that glow, it doesn’t particularly emphasize the pores or scarring that I may have.

It is also an incredibly thin formula which is nice on the skin as it isn’t heavy or cakey, one grievance could be is that I don’t really find it to be one of those “a little goes a long way” formulas. You definitely need a good amount of product to cover any imperfections in the skin.

For science, I also tried the Make Up Forever HD concealer which is by no means a new product but is new to me. Again, I thought it was exceptional. I think that it is so lightweight you wont even notice its there with a nice natural coverage and it definitely buildable. They work together magically.

We’ll see as the weather gets warmer. This may be a little too slick of a makeup product as the heat melts away average makeup but time will tell. For now it is and will continue to be a staple in my makeup collection especially until further notice.
