NEW IN MAKEUP: Milk Makeup Rise Mascara

So you may have probably seem, especially if you shopped through the new in section at Sephora that Milk makeup came out with a new mascara: The Rise mascara. I picked it up along with some other not new but new to me products like the famous hydrogrip primer for both the face and eyes as well as the cream highlighter stick in Lit. Since I was trying out all these products I threw in a little snippet about my tried and true favorite brow gel from the brand as well. Keep reading for more to see how it went.

Milk Rise Lifting + Lengthening Mascara Mascara

Claims: An award-winning, natural-looking mascara that lifts, lengthens, and gives weightless volume for next level lashes that stay curled, defined, and clump-free. It's vegan Lash-Wrap Technology features a blend of four vegan waxes that bind together to wrap each lash, delivering precise definition, so lashes stay curled, lifted, and clump-free. -Monoi oil and marigold extract help strengthen and condition lashes, so they look healthier and feel soft. -Bamboo fiber powders help provide weightless, buildable volume. -Mineral pigments help provide super rich black color.

So the brand rolled out this mascara as the natural sister to their award winning Kush mascara which was the more bold and dramatic option. I have never tried the Kush mascara but I can definitely say that I enjoyed this new addition to the Milk makeup family.

As you know I am a major fan of natural brush bristles which this product also has so that was off to a good start as well as a dryer formula making it super easy to work with and build upon. The results were beautiful. I definitely saw lots of length and some natural volume immediately. I think that it definitely works to boost your natural every day makeup looks. I think that it also might have just enough drama for your night looks as well. I did find my lashes looked longer and separated. One downside, which has been a common theme for me lately so maybe my eyes are the issue – but I did get some flakes by the end of the day. Not a deal breaker, and like I said this could be a personal issue but just wanted to make a note of it. It is also a cruelty free and vegan product.

milk hydrogrip hydrating primer

Milk Hydrogrip Hydrating Makeuo Primer

Claims: An award-winning, invisible makeup primer with a 94% natural gel formula that smooths skin, grips makeup up to 12 hours, and locks in hydration. This product is 94% natural, vegan, clean, cruelty-free, paraben-free, silicone-free, oil-free, fragrance-free, and gluten-free. Immediately: - 93% said makeup went on easier - 100% said skin feels smoother - 93% said skin feels more hydrated After 12 hours: - 100% said makeup lasted longer - 100% said skin has a healthy-looking glow - 100% said skin feels more hydrated Ingredients -Blue agave extract helps form an invisible layer to lock in makeup. -Hyaluronic acid and hemp-derived cannabis seed extract boost hydration to visibly smooth skin. -Niacinamide (vitamin B3) and aloe water provide additional moisture for a fresh, dewy glow.

While I am only going by a first impression I can firmly say that I do enjoy this primer a lot. My makeup went on really nice and while I can’t really say it felt hydrated initally, a glow did form more while wearing throughout the day. It starts off tacky but I suppose that sticky base is what locks it in, because my makeup definitely did last beautifully throughout the day. I am looking forward to using this more in the summer months to see how it stands up against the humidity and sweat as well as playing around with more hydrating glowy and maybe even super matte foundations.

milk hydrogrip primer

The top half of my hand is the eye primer and the bottom half is the face primer – the look seemingly similar however I would say that the face primer is definitely thicker with more of a silicone feel (although I wouldn’t say you feel that on your skin.)

Hydro Grip Eyeshadow and Concealer Primer

Claims: An invisible, hydrating primer for eye shadow and under-eye concealer that smooths skin and locks down color to prevent creasing, fading, and smudging Ingredients: -Blue Agave Extract: Helps form an invisible layer to lock in makeup. -Hyaluronic Acid and Hemp-Derived Cannabis Seed Extract: Boost hydration for delicate eyelid and under-eye area. -Niacinamide (Vitamin B3) and Aloe Water: Provide additional moisture and antioxidant benefits.

My first impression of this product is a little undecided. It definitely is completely clear and lightweight. So much so I couldn’t feel it on my eyes to know whether I applied enough. Usually with past primers I have used I use such a small amount, as in less than a pea size, that I didn’t want to overapply. Initally the shadow looked nice and I didn’t notice it creating anything patchy on my eyelids. However by the end of the day I had no visible shadow left on my eyes.

Now I need to give it a fair shot with some newer shadows. I used a pretty old palette which can often lead to a shorter wear time but nonetheless, my other primers tend to hold on to it a little better. So jurys out until I get to play around with it a bit more.

milk makeup highlighter in lit

Milk Makeup Cream Highlighter

A creamy, pearlescent highlighter in a multiuse stick that glides on and blends seamlessly for a natural, radiant glow and lasting hydration. This product is vegan, clean, cruelty-free, gluten-free, and talc-free. Ingredients: Coconut oil and mango butter provide lasting hydration. -Avocado and apricot oil help hydrate for a natural glow.

Stunning. Absolutely stunning. This cream highlighter is very slick and almost wet when you touch it from the packaging however it dries down to almost a powder finish and gives a beautiful lit from within almost wet look without a massive color pay off or glitter and I mean that in a very good way. As a “multi use stick” I defintiely think you can utilize it on the body as well with easy application, the collar bones, shoulders just to name a few areas where I think it would work great.

kush fiber brow gel

KUSH Fiber Eyebrow Gel

A tinted eyebrow gel formulated with heart-shaped fibers and conditioning, hemp-derived cannabis seed oil to fill, shape, and define. Highlighted Ingredients: - Tinted Heart-Shaped Fibers: Lock onto brows in each direction for long-lasting fullness, filling the hollow fibers for added volume. - Hemp-Derived Cannabis Seed Oil: Conditions and fuses the fibers to brows. Ingredient Callouts: Free of sulfates SLS and SLES, parabens, formaldehydes, formaldehyde-releasing agents, phthalates, mineral oil, retinyl palmitate, oxybenzone, coal tar, hydroquinone, triclosan, and triclocarban, and contains less than one percent of synthetic fragrances. This product is also vegan, cruelty-free, and gluten-free.

If you have seen just about any beauty post on the blog you’ll know that the Kush Fiber Brow Gel is a favorite of mine. My eyebrow routine is very minimal. I am not really into filling them in much at all but this product is such a one and done. It adds a little more fullness and fills in sparse spaces without dramatically changing the color of your brows and looking fake. The gel also has a great hold and lasts through the night. I will continue to repurchase over and over again.

The Makeup In Action
easy spring makeup using milk cosmetics

Just a light simple makeup look using the Milk primers, highlighter, and the new Milk Rise mascara. The foundation I used it with was the NARS Radiant longwear.

The Lip Combo I used was the Pat McGrath Lip Liner in the shade Structure with the Too Faced Lipstick in Naked Dolly (discontinued) but available dupes linked.
