NYC Eats: Bua Thai Ramen & Robata Grill

bua thai and ramen

Recently I checked out a spot on the Upper East Side called Bua Thai Ramen & Robata Grill. This spot definitely pops out on the block with its total floral decor and everything about it is Instagram-worthy, from the ambiance to the cocktails and dishes served. I think that that is really the focus of this location, along with it overall just being solid Thai food at a reasonable price. The clay pot fried rice was absolutely fantastic and a favorite at the table, while the Ba Mee Gyo Moo Dang and Blue Crab was also very tasty. The soup served on the side also goes really well with the dish if you want to make it more ramen style. For appetizers, I thought we ordered the Super Crispy Rice but I think what came out was just regular Crispy Rice Spicy Tuna which is still a solid pick. I would say skip the Rock Shrimp Lychee. I thought it sounded unique and I was so intrigued with the lychee sauce, but it was very lacking in the sauce and heavy on the batter. If you do take a nice big bite with a little shrimp, lychee, etc, it’s the way to go for sure. The cocktails were also good and definitely an IG show, with a really special presentation no matter what you choose. For dessert this was my first experience with mango sticky rice and I was very impressed, you should save room for it. Overall we definitely left satisfied and got some great photos.
