Summer Activities In NYC: Governors Island

Locals to NYC or anywhere around the New York area can take advantage of activities on Governors Island this summer. Governors Island is a great place to spend the day and to really make your own doing the outdoor activities you like. There is tons of outdoor space to gather around and have your own picnic as well as other sites and things to do, such as enjoying the public art locations, various museums and tours, and recreational activities such as bike rentals and play areas for kids. There are also events held on Governors Island as well as marketplaces and festivals. Don’t wan’t to load yourself down with food and supplies? There are tons of food vendors, and a more sit down restaurant such as the Oyster Bar. There is even glamping available with views of the amazing skyline and the statue of liberty should you want to spend the night.

For my own day trip to Governors Island, I spent the day picnicking with friends. I kept the outfit super casual and perfect for almost any day activities during the summer. Some destructed denim camo shorts and a basic white top is super effortless, and simple accessories like a gold medallion link necklace and belt tie it in all together and makes it look like I tried harder than I did. Another tip I will say is that the tight fit and crop of the tank definitely makes a huge difference in making the outfit a little more polished.
