Revel is one of my favorite local spots in the Long Island area. It is definitely trendy and picturesque for the Instagram photos. I would say that Revel is the perfect middle option between the more upscale spots like Kyma and Limani, and other casual locations in Long Island. You can get dressed up for a glam night out but it is still appropriate to come a little more dressed down also.
The food is excellent and has a wide variety on the menu. So far I have not tried anything I didn’t like. Below is a run down of some of the dishes I tried minus the Angus Cheesesteak Rolls and the Burrata Ravioli. However just because they were not photographed doesn’t mean they were any less delicious. Both were definite must orders.

Heirloom tomatoes, kalamata olives, pistachio pesto, garlic crostini, aged balsamic glaze, micro greens
The only disappointing factor is that the truffle notes are really subtle if at all there. It was also hard to compete with the similar version that I had at Morandi (see here). Aside from that, both the burrata and tomatoes tasted delicious and fresh. It is still definitely worth ordering.

Caramelized pecans, gorgonzola cheese, onion, crumbled pecans, baby arugula and truffle honey
Another great medley of flavors that work so well together. I enjoyed the flatbread and would recommend it also. Just be aware that similarly to the burrata, the truffle flavor really doesn’t come through.

Aged Vermont white cheddar, applewood smoked bacon and pickle
No complaints but also not overly impressed. It was a classic slider done well but without much of a wow factor. I’ll give it a bit of the benefit of the doubt in that I like my burgers medium rare and this was a touch over medium. However it is generally a safe order.

Sweet Thai chili, scallions, pickled ginger, edamame, soy sauce
This might have been my favorite dish of the appetizer round up. These dumplings were so light and delicious I could have probably eaten three orders to myself.
I will definitely be returning to Revel some time soon to give you more of a scoop on other things to try. Any spots in Long Island you want reviewed in the future? Let me know!
