With all that I love being a New Yorker talk during my last episode of the tour your own city series, can you believe that this was my first walk on the Brooklyn Bridge? For part of the excursion we headed downtown to walk this can’t miss attraction. In typical New Yorker style, I wore an all black outfit which quite frankly is not only my go-to, but my favorite outfit in general. All black outfits are not just a winter fashion staple but an all around foolproof style for all seasons, occasions, destinations, (fill in your blank). This take on the all black look was a really casual NYC streetwear look with a designer beanie and bag bringing it all together.

Poco NYC

Manchego cheese, crispy arepa and poached eggs, + lobster
Poco Splash
Gin, Ginger, Lemon, Lychee, Champagne
While downtown we also stopped at Poco NYC in Alphabet City. This looks like the type of place that can get pretty wild for their boozy brunches, although admittedly we came on a Friday. Brunch menus are almost exclusively a weekend thing, but Poco has it available on Friday as well and include their unlimited Mimosa, Bloody Mary or Sangria deal with an entree package.
I will say the hash browns and “salad” were pretty useless to the plate, they we just tasteless and simply not good. HOWEVER, I was actually pretty impressed with my eggs benedict. I thought it was quite tasty, the eggs were perfectly poached, and I appreciated the unique spin on a classic. It was unlike any benedict I have yet to have, and I really liked it. I also loved how they added a generous amount of lobster with it and thought that adding it to the dish an excellent choice that complemented it all really well. To drink I got the Poco Splash, which I enjoyed too and thought was refreshing and light but I am sure would sneak up on you very easy. A bunch of things on the menu caught my eye so I could definitely see this being a great place for a boozy weekend brunch.
