Athens is a city with so much history and culture. Be warned, the weather is pretty sweltering during the summer, however do not let it stop you from touring this amazing city.
Your trip here is simply not complete without a visit to the Acropolis. The parthenon is one of the most majestic sights I have ever seen, and truly makes me proud of my Greek roots. The Acropolis museum is also a MUST, as well as the Benaki museum for a deeper delve into Greek culture. Right below the Acropolis is the Monastiraki and Plaka area filled with tons of markets, shops, and dining options. You definitely have to take advantage of coffee culture and carve out some time to relax after all that walking.

Mount Lycabettus has the best views of the city!

Greece’s parliment building. Be sure to check out the changing of the guards if you can!

Relaxing walk for a no pressure kind of day.
A huge tip for your walking tour would be loose comfy clothing. The excursion to the Acropolis is definitely a hike… a hot one at that. I really think these loose shorts and crops were a perfect choice.
