Five Trends I Am Hoping Stay In 2024

worst fashion trends of 2024

While I love to keep ERA en Vogue a place of positivity, every so often you need to spice it up. “Ugly Fashion” was definitely an overall trend for 2024 and made headlines across all fashion magazines. However fashion by nature is completely subjective. With that said, let me preface by saying if you love these trends, by all means please keep enjoying them. I am by no means an authority, nor here to judge. Like I mention time and time again, there are really no rules to fashion. These are just my preferences when it comes to the current trends, and one’s that I personally won’t be partaking in.

1. The Long Claw Nail Trend

I find this to be as simply unpractical as it is unflattering. While this list is generally a compilation of some of my least favorite trends, I have to say this is one is at the top as I have yet to see a scenario in which it was actually pulled off tastefully unless it being as part of a costume.

2. The Catepiller Eyelashes Trend

Sometimes I am a big believer that less truly is more. Let your natural beauty stand out ladies. I find that this heavy lash trend weighs down they eye, often doesn’t leave room for getting creative with makeup and I’m sorry I just don’t think its a good look. Period.

3. The Tabi Shoe Or Worse The 5 Finger Shoe

I see there being an attempt to be innovative and make headlines but this trend is just not my favorite. While I can definitely appreciate some of the high-fashion styling I have seen on the streets and runways, this wouldn’t be something I would pick up, especially in the high price points like Margielas Tabi Shoe. The Five Finer shoe is pretty unredeemable. That one can just go-away completely.

4. Dresses Over Jeans

Similarly to the Tabi shoe, there are people who can pull this trend off and I have seen some solid applications of the styling. However, I just don’t see this trend as to be very user friendly and there are too many parameters like finding the exact right fits and prints to be made flattering and harder for a lot of body types to pull off.

5. Visors

Sometimes you don’t have to fix what is not broken. To me this is a bit of a waste of a perfectly good hat. Again, this isn’t a completely definitive roast as some people can really pull it off, I just don’t see the appeal as a fashion statement for myself.
