There I am just playing around in Zeus pool. Mythologically, Mount Olympus is home of the gods. In reality, it is the highest mountain in Greece. A campers and nature lovers dream, there are plenty of excursions to take from choosing one of the various hiking trails, to bathing in the canyons, and a stunning large waterfall available to to visitors if you book a guided tour.
Everything about this experience was breathtaking. The windy drive up, swimming in the icy waterfalls, and having an amazing lunch atop the mountain of traditional homestyle cooking (bean soup, stuffed peppers, sausage, and more– these are must orders for the full experience) were some of biggest highlights of summer. If you find yourself in northern Greece, this will definitely be a memorable part of your trip.
