Samos Night Walk: Pythagorio and Kokari

I have to say, I do regret not staying an extra day or two in Samos. It truly was beautiful and we spent every second we could at the amazing beaches, leaving no daylight to explore these adorable cities. However take whatever time you do have to explore, they are lovely to walk around in even by night!

Pythagorio

An ancient city with many of the ruins untouched, Pythagorio was stunning to walk around in. There are still so many beutiful archeological sites to visit, sandy beaches, and a beautiful port filled with restaurants and cafes.

Food

83100 La Trattoria Di Samos

Everything we ate at 83100 was delicious, even starting with the spread trio. One was a olive tampenade, one quite unique (maybe a beet yogurt sauce of some kind), and one tomato paste. The pizza was also well done, but then again Greek pizza usually is. I especially loved the pasta dish, with freshly made noodles, tomatoes, zucchini, and shrimp in a delicious but light sauce.

Karlovassi

Actually this photo was taken in our hotel (Hotel Marope) in Karlovassi. We had a great stay – Highly recommend! We didn’t do much else in this city aside from sleep, however it was conveniently located next to the port.

Kokari

While I don’t find Samos to be a place with crazy nightlife, this definitely was an area full of life. Again lots of places to eat and drink, with stunning views.

Food

Kalamies

On the end of the strip we stumbled upon Kalamies. They were so accommodating and accepted us even though we arrived quite late. The decor was so cute, and the ambience was beautiful as you were also right on the water. The food was excellent. We googled a traditional dish of Samos and ended up ordering Kokinisto – perfectly executed. We also ordered some baked feta with olives and peppers that was delicious, and their famous fried Calamari which we also loved.
