Tour of Tuscany: Lajatico & Teatro del Silenzio Concert

Lajatico is another gorgeous small city in Tuscany who’s claim to fame really is as the birthplace of singer Andrea Bocelli. He built the Teatro del Silenzio, an amphitheater, basically in the middle of nowhere, surrounded by panoramic views of the magnificent Tuscan hills. Once a year in July, he performs with a roster of fellow musicians for one night only, and then the hills return back to silence and peace. There is also a different themed art instillation every year featuring local and international artists which is taken down almost immediately after the performance. Elegantly put, it brings together nature, art, and music in a divine way for a moment in time. If you are able to get tickets, I am sure this concert is an experience of a lifetime.

Even if you don’t make the concert, the views are still spectacular and I think that the detour to Lajatico is worth it. There is a small cafe right near the theater to have a drink. Otherwise you may wan’t to prepare a picnic and enjoy the scenery. Within the actual town of Lajatico, there is of course a lot more exploring to do.

This years concert falls on July 22 and July 24. For tickets to the concert click here.

A hybrid museum/restaurant owned by Andrea Bocellis Family

Andrea Bocelli and his family have truly taken over Lajatico. The cafe slash museum dedicated to him was closed when I arrived however looking through the window, it was very adorable retro decor. There is also a local vineyard operated by his brother that is available for visitors.

Another cute white summer sun dress. This one is super feminine and flirty with the ruffle off the shoulder style and the red eyelet embroidery. I think it is beautiful and effortless. I wore it with the nude sandals and kept it simple but it would make as a great dress to wear day to night and dress up with a heel.
