Only a few days till Christmas and I am sure we are all crazy wrapping up things in office, preparing for holiday parties, and setting goals for the New Year. However, taking advantage of all the activities in the city is always a good idea. As mentioned in my last post, NYC during the holiday’s go together like Santa’s milk and cookies and there are tons of things to do. I recently posted about the beautiful Van Gogh Immersive Exhibit but along the same realm of things to do that aren’t completely Christmas-y, may I suggest the Michaelangelo Sistine Chapel Exhibit.
The exhibition is located in Soho, a little outside of all the midtown craziness during the holidays, but it is worth the trip. With life size artworks featuring the paintings in the Sistine Chapel of the Vatican it is like a complete immersion into the art. The experience involves a deep delve into the meanings behind each particular painting of the Chapel, the significance, the techniques used by Michaelangelo, and some of the background behind the choices he made when creating them.
Tour the room at your own pace with your own personal audio download and enjoy the beauty of each painting up close and personal. Perfect for art and history lovers, this mellow outing is definitely worth checking out. It is also is so spacious with limited tickets for each time slot, so considering the COVID surge in recent weeks, it also felt like a very safe outing.
Be sure to take advantage while the exhibit is still open. It is set to close on Jan 9.

I will say this outfit was not only a really cute option but a very festive choice for the holidays as well. The red and burgundy colors of the scarf and top was season appropriate and black jeans and boots go with just about anything.
