Welcome To 2022: Five Favorites Of 2021

With every intention of starting off the New Year with a timely post, similarly to last year here we are a week in with the first post of 2022. How was everyone’s holiday season. As wonderful as the time of year is it definitely isn’t always the easiest and my first Goal of 2022 is more of a year end goal and that is GET YOUR SHIT TOGETHER so there is time to relax during the holidays. I don’t know about you but everything feels like a constant balance of preparing to host holiday parties, holiday shopping, wrapping up work for the year, planning the next years goals and projects and allegedly taking some time to rest, relax and regenerate for the new year. Trying to do all of those things leads to a mediocre version of each. Lesson learned, I hope. Hopefully sometime soon I’ll see that break or that day off… Till then there is lot’s of exciting plans for the upcoming New Year and major changes I will be making/ adding. Stay tuned for those 😉

Till then, let’s wrap up the last year and some of my favorite discoveries in various categories.

Beauty Product

Tarte Maracuja Juicy Lips

There was no going back after trying these products. I used them daily throughout the summer and every day since. They definitely named this product appropriately and these lippies are so juicy, hydrating and the perfect amount of pigment to achieve multiple kinds of looks – as in a topper over a more pigmented lipstick or for a more light fresh glossy look paired with a lip liner. 10/10

For a more thororogh breakdown of the product, check out my dedicated post to the Tarte Maracuja Juicy Lips here.

Another definite favorite lip combo of mind that I wanted to share was the Kiko Charming Escapes Limited Addition Collection. I didn’t want to spend to much time on it because, duh, limited addition, you may not be able to get your hands on it. But truthfully I have loved those products to death, and even from swatching the shadows really was impressed with the quality. I will link that post here as well if you’re interested in hearing more.

Skincare Product

St. Jane

My holy grail skincare product throughout the year. They drew me in on that stunning packaging and I am so glad because this was not only one of my favorite products of the year, but of all time. It is rare that I complete a skincare product or system from start to finish and as I have mentioned, I have pretty sensitive and acne prone skin. Throughout the year I definitely dabbled but I always returned back to these products and finished them both completely. Check out my dedicated post and more details about the product here.

Do you guys still enjoy hearing about product empties. I have been saving them on the side for a round up so definitely let me know if that is something you are interested in.

Fashion Brand Discovery

Sarah Flint

One of my most exciting accomplishments and partnerships of the year was becoming a Brand Ambassador for Sarah Flint. Now I will definitely be dedicating a full post about the person, the brand, and the shoes I have and how I style them, HOWEVER, I have fallen in love with everything about this brand. The shoes are exceptional with so many amazing technologies, quality and of course styles. Sarah Flint the designer is the most humble and such a beautiful person inside and out. These luxury shoes are a bit on the pricey side but are classics and worth every penny. They will quickly be taking over my shoe collection for sure.

NYC Spot

Baccarat

This place truly makes me feel like a million bucks. From the time you enter and throughout your experience Baccarat is a very high level atmosphere from A-Z. I only got to visit once during 2021 but it stole my heart immediately. While there are tons of amazing places to have a drink and grab some food from in New York City (hello it is NYC), many have become quite mainstream and attract all types of people. Baccarat is as of now, a cut above the rest. Definitely check out my dedicated blog post about my experience here.

Positive Habit

Fuck It Mindset / Abundance Mindset

This one is still a work in progress but I did make a conscious effort to live in the “fuck it mindset.” Sometimes when it came to those high ticket purchases I knew I couldn’t afford, or the trip that I (couldn’t afford or didn’t have time for), sometimes even those meaningless little splurges like a notebook I don’t need or an extra Starbucks coffee because why not. I just pulled the trigger and did it.

Let me tell you, this is a lot easier said than done. And in the moment it is quite painful, gets all those butterflies of nerves in your stomach and messes with your psyche. But let me tell you in the aftermath, it is the most liberating feeling you can have. Am I the only one who finds it absolutely EXHAUSTING to stress about every little thing and the time and money involved. To kind of just let go of the reigns and do exactly what I want, it is a real big game changer to my overall happiness and let me tell you that in everything I have ever applied this mindset to, I have never regretted it. I look back on 2021 and feel fulfilled in so many ways. The money comes back (if you intend it too), you will always find the time to catch up on things or find the time to rest (if you intent it). Now I am sure there is a within reason caveat I should mention but I think it really just comes down to being in the moment and doing what’s best for yourself, what feels right for you.

Again, like I said, a work in progress with this kind of attitude but one of my biggest goals of 2022 and every year after is to apply it more.

So on that note, cheers to 2022 everyone! Heres to more amazing things to come.

I also wanted to link last years favorites too if your interested – they all definitely are still favorites to this day and will continue to be throughout the year.
