We get it. Red and Green are definitely festive, and beautiful, options to wear this holiday season. However I have noticed that the royal and navy blue have been hugely trending this year and I am definitely here for it. I think that the rich winter colors are flattering on so many skin tones and are a little more of a neutral making it easier to work with. I wore this navy little number and styled it with a chain belt, that always adds an extra something to any look, and a nude suede pump.
While I kept things on the simple side – you can definitely make this a little more glam with more statement jewelry pieces, bedazzled shoes or even playing with the textures of the dress itself. There are lots of blue sequins options hitting retailers, rich blue suedes and velvets which are super sexy and you can play with different necklines and cuts as well.
Another option you can work with for making the blue a little more festive is playing with a lip color, a red or plum would definitely change the look and work great.

I wore this look to a cute little Greek taverna in Bayridge Brooklyn called Blue Door Souvlaki. Their outdoor/indoor veranda was so adorable and decorated for the holidays and we had it all to ourselves for a dear friend of mine’s birthday brunch.
